Default Making Rootstock

I have a friend with a large Trifoliate Orange Tree. It's a great tree for rootstock. It's not one of the large Trifoliate trees. It's an old tree but not over 15 or 16ft. tall. I'm able to get fruit from it to start my own rootstock.
I would like to have my own tree that fruits. But that will take several years. So, here's my answer.
I grafted a mature cutting from the mother tree to a seedling rootstock. This way I should get my own seeds in a couple of years.
