Now here's a fig that surprized me with it's early crop, and exceptional flavor. This fig was brought over from Napoli, Italy.
I have around 50 varieties in my fig collection. This was the first to ripen it's breba crop. Breba is the first fig crop produced on 1 year old wood. Breba don't usually taste as good as the main crop. However this one was exceptional in flavor, I'm waiting to see how good the main crop tastes.
