| Seeds are formed by pollination and in Hawaii the plants are not pollinated. They are propagated by suckers or pups from the base of the mother plant, similar to bananas. Hummingbirds are the chief pollinators of the pineapple and are banned from the state. The pineapple we buy in the mainland stores comes from other countries and the state of Florida, and are open pollinated so they have seeds. Andi |
