Thanks,
The Loquat are actually easy to grow, but they needed the right conditions.
It's very exciting to get a crop after a 7 years wait. Gardening sometimes needs lots of patience, but your patience will award you.

Smile I've tasted fruit grown by the know how of Bass

I just want to share my wife's and my experience of this past Sunday afternoon.

We had the honor of being invited to the home of Bass a moderator on this site to partake in some tasting a few of his Loquat fruit that are displayed in photos on the posts above.
I have to give him credit because my wife and I have eaten Loquat (Nespoli) in Italy picked fresh from a tree just like we did in Bass's hothouse. The fruit I ate was just as tasty as I ever had and I did not expect it to be that good because of the climate differences where they are usually grown.

Bass deserves praise for what he has accomplished not only with the Loquat but also the many different variety of figs and other tropical fruit he has successfully been growing in Bethlehem, PA. His hothouse has a vast array of cuttings just starting to sprout. One can tell he puts many hours into his hobby. He also is a very knowledgeable, generous and kind indivual and I will state that goes for his wife as well.

He is not aware that I am placing this information and photos on the site so I hope he does recognize that it is done with great admiration for him, his wife and his soon to be new family members. The first photo shows Bass then the second is my wife Gina picking a loquat to eat.

Forgive me bass but I just could not help myself wanting to share my experience with you and the others who view this forum.
Thanks a million.
Lou NE., PA

They are sweet, I can't compare them to any other fruit. It's a unique flavor. Every person I gave a fruit to, absolutely loved it.
