Talking too many to count

Andi,
Yes there are so many different kinds of orchids,I believe there are over 60,000 species alone.Add the hybrids to that and yes the choices are endless. I have a neo. falcata that is nice it smell so good too. I really enjoy looking at orchids to see all the neat ways they try to attract pollinators it is so neat. Some that only smell at night, some with hinged lips, some that shoot the pollen at a bug when they step on a trigger. I have been in love with them for years...Hey I am hoping to get Citrus Joe hooked I gave him 2 small plants...

It's a toss up between the bananas and palms,I've growed both by seeds but the bananas are fasr more the faster grower, but nothing saya more tropical than these.

Favorite tropical? Why pick just one?! Ack!

Bananas are tasty, heliconia are interesting looking but can't eat them. Coffee is a necessary nutrient! Monstera is fun to look at, bamboo is useful for bean poles and fishing rods. Avocados are really tasty, hmm. Orchids and bromeliads are interesting to look at.

I'd have to guess my current favorites are bananas and avocados but that might be because it's lunch time! I probably have more varieties of orchids than any other tropical plant but that's because there's generally only one or two of each variety of orchid where as the bananas grow in big clumps.

Default Orchids

Orchids are pretty slow growing if you have new roots and growth you are doing fine, I hope you can tell what variety you have but with all of the hybrids sometimes you cannot tell....

I really like the Eugenia's. Eugenia is a large genus of flowering plants that include the tropical cherries and lots of members of the myrtle family.
