| Thank You for your kind words. I have been in love with the Plumeria since I was a child in Hawaii. I have only attempted to grow them here for a couple years as I didn't possibly think I could succeed. Boy was I wrong. The Plumeria thrive here in the hot sun. They must be given wither protection as they are a tropical plant. They make beautiful trees with various scents and shapes/colors in their flowers. Between the Citrus and the Plumeria, my yard smell heavenly. Andi |

| I thought Plumeria is related to the Oleander. It belongs to the family Apocynaceae. It is very beautiful to see.It is available in white , rose and in double colors also.It is known as Temple Tree or Champa in India. It smells like Jasmine.Flowering can last up to 3 months. __________________ [Only Registered Users Can See Links. | Sreeja, You are partially right in that the Plumeria does belong to the Apocynaceae family. This family includes over 1000 different flowering trees, shrubs, woody vines and herbs. Its also known as the Temple Tree in India, Philippians, and other Asian countries. However not all Plumeria smell like Jasmine or last as log as 3 months. Plumeria smell like a lot of different things and have many colors other than the white or rose. They also have as many as 5 or more colors per flower/variety. The colors meld together to make different colors ranging from white to a deep dark red that looks to be purple or black. The Hilo Beauty is one that can almost look black. Many of the colors are more vibrant if subjected to strong sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity. |
