| hello, I'm new to here but a longtime grower of northern citrus and tropical edibles - and an occasional writer of gardening articles and books. Recently I was asked to interview gardeners about "how they feel about global warming." That's a pretty broad topic - but I was wondering if any of you would wish to weigh in with a few comments. We've all had a lot of extreme weather recently -- has anyone had an experience they would wish to share? Thanks, Mia |

| thanks, this is helpful....I have been talking to a lot of gardeners this week about this, and there seems to be a bit of a divide between those who feel this is just a fad to get us to buy different things, and those who are terribly worried. The common ground? Apparently most gardeners are willing to reduce their carbon footprint as long as it doesn't impact their lifestyle. The one exception: gardeners a bit more south and west, who have no trouble growing citrus, but find their apricots and apples are doing poorly due to lack of chilling hours. |
