Default hi from the canary islands

i have just started on gardening forums and im hooked i belong to about 5 or 6 now but mainly uk based so the info i get isnt always relevant for this hot dry climate so i am looking foward to trying this out
on a whim last week i bought a persian lime tree have planted it lets see what happens eh !!!!! anyone good at palm idenity bought one about 6 months ago and cant find it in any of my books xxx

hello Tracy,
welcome to citrus north. I love the Canary Islands I was there a couple years ago. Which island do you reside in?
You live in a beautiful part of the world. Have you been getting enough rain in the canarias? I remember when I went, it didn't rain for 5 years.
Persian lime should do well in your area, I'm sure you know that you'll have to water it throughly every so often.
Do you have a picture of the Palm you mentioned?

hi bass i have lived in fuerteventura for 10 years now the amount of rain we get now is sufficient in the winter but the summers are long dry and very hot i have set up my own watering system though so its not too much of a problem.
i must be thick but how do i post a photo i went to insert image and it wants a url !!!!!! help

If you have a photo that's less than 450 KB you can click on the attachment button next to the smiley face. If you have your photos uploaded online to an album you can enter the URL.

Default palm tree

heres the photo of my palm its looking a bit ragged at the moment as we have had strong winds recently
if youve any ideas i would be very grateful i have looked on the net and in my various gardening books with no joy

The photo is not a 100% clear, but from what I can see it's possibly a Raffia palm, or a wax palm.

hi have found a picture that we took when i first got it and
its a lot clearer, i checked out the other two and the raffia is close but its not that so if you have any other ideas pls let me know thanks tracy
