Default Coffee

This the largest coffee I have. It's about 3 years old. This is the one that looked about the same size as Gina's last year. New branches near the bottom are new this year along with some top growth

Default problems with coffee plants

Hello Everyone, I have 12 coffee plants. About half of them are getting brown spots on the leaves. Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it? Thanks for any help.

In your case, it is very hard to advise with any kind of certainty, because you do not say your location, nor do you inform where the trees are located (greenhouse, outside, in your home etc.). However, a very common reason for coffee leaves to turn brown, is due to the plants growing in areas of low humidity, such as indoors during the winter heating season. Traditional, growing areas for coffee trees are in areas with 70+ humidity. An additional cause is windy conditions.

HI Newton, I live in western new york, The coffee plants are currently indoors. Is there a way to give them the proper conditions in doors during the winter months?

You can use a humidifier to raise the humidity of the room, you can set the plant on a water filled pebble tray, and you can mist the tree. According to Purdue University research, misting really does not accomplish much, due to the short life of the mist near the plant. I do not know how many different plants you grow, but if you are able to place them all in the same location, and use the methods listed above, they will tend to raise the humidity level greater than a single plant.
