Dale,
Could you explain this picture a little? I am not sure which part you are concerned about. I have a great site that gives a good deal of information on the Avacado and its pests/diseases. Its on the other CPU so I will need to hook it back up. I will do this in the morning when I get home from work.

It's the brown spot. The length is about 1" long on the main stem 2/3 up from the base. looks to me like die back.

The growth that is above this is nice having a lot of new growth. Humm got me stumped.
