Default A Fungus Among Us

I am starting some seeds using wet paper towel in plastic baggy.
I read in another thread that some use hydrogen peroxide to soak seeds prior to this to prevent fungus.
I did that but am still getting a black mold.
Also heard in same thread about using 8 hydroxyquinoline as a preventative. I am not sure how to get this.
Any other suggestions?
I noticed my rooting hormone has a fungicide. I wonder about sprinkling this in the paper towel with the seeds.

Kyle I used the baggie method in the past without having this kind of problem. Myself I never tried peroxide or rooting hormone on seeds using this method. I'm sure you washed the seeds clean before doing this. some people remove the outer skin of the seed, again I never tryed it. keep us posted on your findings.

I seldom use any type of fungicide or fungistats in seed starting, 'tho some folks do. After a week, I check the seeds regularly, every 2 or 3 days...if I see discoloration I simply rinse the seeds under running warm water in a colander, for a few minutes...swishing them around (briskly) to dislodge any starts of mold. Following this action plan, I've had very few problems...over the years.

Try soaking the seed for about 5 minutes in water 120 to 125 degrees Fbefore planting.
