| Hi You all, I m new to the center, I would like to wish all our member a happy year of 2007. I have many questions but I think everybody is very busy at this time, so I posponed the questions even though I didn 't want to wait. 1- I tried air layer on my calamondin in July, by Sept nothing happened. So I retried. In the meantime, I brought it inside. By mid Dec. I checked, I saw a lot of roots, I was stunned and don't know what to do: cut off was out of question because the tree is inside, it may die. I decided to wrap around the roots a small container so that I can add a little more soil and wait until spring. Please tell me should it be OK ? The tree has a few flowers now. 2- I was excited about citrus rooting by Gina. So, 3 weeks ago, I asked my sister in Cali. send me some cutting of her kaffir lime by priority mail. I put them in small containers with fluorescent light and heating pad under clear plastic. That was 19 days ago. This morning, I saw some dropping leaves. Is there any hope ? By the way I live in Quebec, Canada, it's -8C at the moment That's it for now. I 'll appreciate any suggestion. Anjou |

| CitrusNorth also wishes you and your's the same. I can help you with No#1 ... This is what I do in air-layering. Once the layer has taking root with a good mass, trim back on the main, When new growth begins. Cut from Mom. And plant in soil media. Don't let it flower. Your goal at this time is to promote root mass. Don't over water. This work's for me. Your No#2 I suggest this [Only Registered Users Can See Links. | I agree with Dale on the ?#1.. A few side notes on #2.. What temp is the heating pad?? above 85*F or below 68*F could be a problem.. Also if the wood was not mature enough.. or not enough humidity.. I'll think of more mistakes I've made that have caused limp leaves.. LOL Also if growing medium is too wet or too dry.. Have you recently watered it?? if no then water it (small sip) if yes then it might need to dry out a bit.. Let me know if any of these things fit.. if not I'll keep my mind working on a solution for you.. Gina *BabyBlue* |

| Thank you Admin & Gina, I ll follow your instructions. Gina, I just watered my cuttings last night. The temperature is 66 right now. I ll add a string of christmas light around because I didn't want to disturb the bottom. Thank you again. Anjou |
