This isn't a newspaper article but a link outlining a recent Saturday workshop for plant folks including a presentation by fellow member Bass...regarding Figs. Goes to show that CN members are busy promoting plants, propagation and plant care. Way to go!

I recommend everyone to join a local gardening club if there is one within a driving distance of your area. I'm fortunate to be a member of North American Fruit Explorer (nafex), and California Rare fruit growers (CRFG), but the greatest benefit comes from local clubs such as backyard fruit growers in south eastern PA.
They have many activities such as Grafting workshop, which you'll be able to get many different varieties of apples and pears, Paw paw tours (picking as much pawpaw from the wild trees), listen to talks by many pros and novice people.
