Default Neem oil?

Has anyone used Neem oil for citrus? Or does it have an application for citrus?
I have read a little about it and it sounds useful but I've been fooled before.

I like Safer Soap, oil can be a bit heavy if not mixed correctly and can kill the tree. Joe have you ever tried it. Newton

I tried it, didn't like it. Mabye others have had better success than me. Neem is touted to do lots of wonderful things...including working/serving as a fungicide or fungistat and the medical form having healthful benefits when consumed by humans. Extracts and oils are derived from the Neem tree, a tropical/sub-tropical plant native to India, so folks tend to like using it..
reasoning that it's safer to use and easier on the planet than other products.

Safer Insecticidal Soap, works for me. You may need to apply it a few more times.

I have good luck with liquid dish soap added to water in a small sprayer. Like other spray mixes...the soap can strip oil from the plant leaves. Still, it's pretty safe and works pretty well for white flies, aphids and mealies. In a small, pump up sprayer you can adjust the application from a mist to heavy droplets or a stream. With the stream you can actually dis-lodge some of the critters.

I too prefer the dish soap spray, lots safer and it does work!!! I don't pull out the "big guns" unless I haven't been paying good enough attention and things get out of hand!

I killed a few citrus trees, at least I think thats what did it. I sprayed with neem oil weekly for three of four weeks then all of a sudden leaves started dropping and didnt quit. Then I read the instructions about not using after recent transplanting.. So... Im just off neem oil for good.

Default neem oil/dishwashing liquid

Dawn (regular) diluted 2 teaspoon per gallon of water work very well on white fly. It is best sprayed 3 times 3 day apart. This gives good control on white fly. I have used Neem but find it no better than ultra fine oil.

Default Orange oil

Recently a quart of Orange oil was gave to me. It is supposed to be better than Neem or Ultra fine. Time will tell. It can be ordered for about $12.00 a quart. The dilution rate is 1 ounce to 3 gallons of water.
