Why? I have some sour orange seedlings here in Gainesville, Florida. But I sell satsumas, tangerines, navel and valencias mostly.

Bittersweet Sour Oranges are popular in Spain.
I have a Chinotto sour Orange and I have Seville sour orange seedlings. Now I want a Bittersweet sour orange.

Default sour orange

Sour Oranges grow wild in the woods around here, and I have several that I have budded Satsuma onto. My only comment is that the trees budded onto sour orange get larger (not necessarily a good thing) than those budded onto Trifoliate, which I usually use. Trifoliate gives more cold hardiness, and it is of course easier to tell which new growth is rootstock and which is not because of the 3 leaves, so I prefer it.

I lost several trees to the 10 degree freeze in 1989 but have re-grafted most of them, so do not have a ready source of sour orange fruit or seeds. So I cant help you much, unless you are looking for some of the wild sour oranges from the woods, and I cant tell you anything about their heritage, other than they escaped from the Spanish settlements at St. Augustine (60 miles east of here) in the 1600s.

Newton,
Your right. I'm looking for the best marmalade. I just got a recipe for Yuzu marmalade. I cant wait to get some fruit to try it.
