| Theree important factor for successful t-budding. Good scions. For spring scions They should be cut late in the dormant sciont before active growth starts. The leaves should be clipped off and the scions be placed in a zip lok bag and then stored in the crisper until the bark will slip on the understock to be budded. After 3 or 4 week the leaf petiole wil turn yellow and fall off the scion. These should be taken out of the bag and discarded. The bark must be slipping almost to the point like there is a lubricant between the bark and the wood. A sharp knife is essential. My preferance is the Tina #683. My preferance of budding tape is the real thin chip budding tape. Buddy tape is another good tape but is a little pricey, about $17.00 a roll. A roll will do about 700 t-buds. Citrus can also be cleft grafted late in the dormant season quite successful, also a hang bud can can be done when the bark is not slipping. |

| Bonnie, Thanks for your re-cap. I've heard those same pointers from you before and everything that you've said has been important and true....even down to the comment about the Tina budding knife. It's good to see you posting. CJ |
