| I've lost two lady finger bananas in the past week - because they've grown too tall and produced bunches too big. Both bananas were over 7m tall where the bunch appears and the bunch themselves weigh more than 28kg each. Sorry it's all in metric weights and measures, that's all we use here. Luckily both bunches are within weeks of being ripe so hopefully I can save them and ripen them off the plant. |

| If you lost the plants due to the weight of the bunches, you can construct a platform to help keep the weight at a minimum. I have seen people around here use a wooden ladder to sorta prop the bunches up until they get ripe. The ladder also provides for a way to reach said bunches when its harvest time. Just make sure the ladder or other structure is firmly stable so it won't tip when you climb it. Andi |
