| The problem is...in spring...it constantly gets cold and warm in repeated intervals. The reason this is a problem is that the warm temps promote growth, but ANY cold temps will stall growth. If bare root, this will be a big problem, but if it is rooted, the problem will only exist until constant warm temps arrive. In your case, in a pot, it should be alright. Try to keep the soil dry for that cold night, then water with room temp water the next morning, then you have not smothered the roots with the cold. In all, I'd say that 41 is OK, depending on your conditions (remember to keep the soil as dry as possible for that night). For sure, the leaves can handle it...until you get frost that is. Even if you kill the leaves, they will quickly regrow. Expect a stall in growth, but then quick recovery due to being in a pot (temps rise quicker than in ground, therefore the stalling issue is small). Hope I haven't rambled on too long! ![]() __________________ Taylor[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...][Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] |

| Thanks Taylor. I decided to err on the safe side and brought them in for tonight. No frost is expected but we might have a cold rain. I have got them to survive the winter, I sure don't want to loose them now. Andi |
