| I uploaded A photo of a Wal-mart Banana to the PhotoPost Gallery. I do not know the type. This Banana was planted in a clay container. It grew very slow even in the summer being placed outside. A few weeks back I replanted it in a RootTrapper2 Bag. It is now putting out 2-3 leaves a week. I found this to be pretty good, considering it's the dead of winter. |

| Looks to be a Musa acuminata ssp, zebrina, these are a good indoor growing banana,I have a couple growing, one about 8ft tall to the top of the leaf, another about 5 ft. Watch for spidermites for they love these bananas, good drainage your getting from those root trapper bags and keeping the soil above 53*F,will give you good success in growing them, along with the great sunshine your giving it too! |
